various fibers, woven and laminated on backside
3 ft x 33 ft
This woven installation, measuring 40 inches by 33 feet, is conceived as a dialogue between material and environment. Suspended within the windows, it shifts in meaning depending on where the eye rests—echoing the steady movement of the San Antonio River flowing beneath or opening toward the expanse of the sky above. The work is woven with deliberate looseness, allowing light to penetrate its surface, transforming it into an ever-changing presence as reflections drift across the floor. Rendered in cool blue and gray tones, and composed of fibers ranging from silk paper to cotton and polyester, the piece seeks to capture the liminal qualities of water, air, and light—fluid, transient, and in constant conversation with place.
